Conclusions
Heat-resistant concrete based on water glass with fine milled magnesite and firebrick aggregates in molten aluminum containing zinc and magnesium is more resistant than the rammed bodies and magnesite brick that were tested.
In view of the positive experience with the use of heat-resistant concrete in one of the vacuum-distillation furnaces at the Podol'sk Nonferrous Metals Plant, all furnaces are to be lined with this refractory.
Despite the development of the new materials in badly equipped workshops, the annual saving, according to data from the Podol'sk Plant, amounts to 13,000 rubles.
