Summary
The present state of organ transplantation is determined by the advances in tissue typing and matching, in the technique of immunosuppressive treatment, and the development of organ preservation. Whereas tissue typing of cadaver organs is under discussion, there has been little progress of immunosuppressive treatment during recent years.
As to organ preservation, kidneys can be kept viable for three to four days; so far, successful liver preservation is possible only for a limited period. The current results of transplantation, regarding various organs, are outlined.

Der augenblickliche Stand der Organverpflanzung ist bestimmt durch die Fortschritte der Gewebstestung, die Technik der immunsuppressiven Behandlung und die Entwicklung der Organkonservierung. Während die Gewebstestung bei Verwendung von Leichenorganen Gegenstand der Diskussion ist, hat die immunsuppressive Behandlungstechnik in den letzten Jahren nur geringe Fortschritte gebracht. Auf dem Gebiet der Organkonservierung können für die Niere Fristen von 3–4 Tagen überbrückt werden. Die Konservierung der Leber ist nur in begrenztem Umfang möglich. Die Ergebnisse der Organtransplantation für die einzelnen Organe werden nach ihrem gegenwärtigen Stand aufgezeigt.
