Development of mining operations in working magnesite deposits

Refractories Aims and scope

Conclusions

An improvement in the overburden schedule and mining operations and also in the use of ore reserves can be ensured by changing the working of the deposite from the longitudinal to the transverse system.

The change is desirable with a ratio of the length of the quarry base to its depth of 7.5 or more.

The moment of change from longitudinal to transverse depends on the angle of inclination of the ore body and the depth of the quarry. With increase in the depth of the quarry the depth of the change is increased, and with increase in the angle of slope of the ore body it is reduced.
