Conclusions
Our studies made it possible to understand the nature of destruction of the fused-cast fluorophlogopite materials under the conditions of dynamic action of molten aluminum on them and the influence of the phase composition and the grain size of the material-forming mineral on the corrosion rate. The fine-grained structures are characterized by an improved corrosion resistance. Increasing the content of the glassy substance and the phases of the secondary minerals leads to accelerated destruction. It was shown that the heat resistant fluorophlogopite materials have a higher corrosion resistance than cast iron and steel in molten aluminum under identical test conditions. An increased resistance of the cast products obtained from the fluorophlogopite material to aluminum can be expected, due to the presence of a protective casting shell at the surface.
