Refractories Aims and scope

Conclusions

Melt ducts fabricated from a composite zirconium-containing material give reliable service in continuouscasting equipment for copper. The material of the working layer of the duct undergoes structural and phase conversions giving zirconium orthosilicate ZrSiO4 and eutectic intergrowths of cuprite in the SiO2 of the glass fiber.
