Isolation of living megaspores ofTorenia fournieri

Summary

Viable megaspore protoplasts ofTorenia fournieri were isolated with enzymatic digestion and mild osmotic shock. With this method, living haploid protoplasts were released from the ovules, while very few sporophytic protoplasts were produced.
