The short distances from hospital to hospital (approx. 50 km) guarantee that even casualties who are in a critical condition are going to be admitted to a clinical resuscitation centre well in time, provided transportation has been carried out correctly.

Meistens geben die Ärzte ihre Anwei sungen über Sprechfunk. Krankenhäuser und Krankenkraftwagen sind in immer größerem Maβe mit Sprechfunk ausgerüstet.

Die notwendigen Maßnahmen am Unfallort umfassen künstliche Beatmung, Lagerung. Notverbände und vorsichtigen Transport. Tracheotomie, Pleurapunktion oder i.v. Infusionen (Blut- oder Plasmaexpander) sind nach Meinung der französischen Ärzte selten erforderlich. Die kurzen Abstände von Krankenhaus zu Krankenhaus, ungefähr 50 km, garantieren bei korrekt durchgeführtem Transport, auch bei Verletzten in kritischem Zustand, die rechtzeitige Einlieferung in ein klinisches Reanimationszentrum.
