Abstract
We construct and study the dispersion equations for electroelastic three-dimensional shear waves propagating in a periodic medium formed by alternating layers of conducting and piezoelectric materials. We determine the structure of the transmission and blocking zones (the spectral regions of “stability” and “instability”) for various relations among the parameters of the layers with waves propagating along the interfaces between the layers.
