Résumé

  1. a)

  4. d)

    Ces résultats sont brièvement discutés.

Summary

  1. a)

The average length and the width of cysts from algae collected in the sea are 165 and 100Μ respectively. Consequently, the average volume of a cyst is of 8.6 · 105 Μ 3.

  2. b)

Acetabularia mediterranea cysts are of ovoÏdal shape. However, about 3–5% present an abnormal morphology. This fact suggests that, if the morphogenesis of the cysts generally is under the control of the (secondary) nucleus, in some cases however it can be altered by cytoplasmic factors.

  3. c)

Abnormal cysts, like the normal ones, are not sterile. This fact suggests that gamete differentiation is not affected by the abnormal morphology of the cysts.

  4. d)

    These results are briefly discussed.
