Zusammenfassung
In den Vakuolen der Pflanzen, die mit einem TMV-Stamm infiziert waren, wurden Bündel von kristallinen Nadeln aufgefunden. Daß diese intravakuolären Körper vom Virus abhängig sind, konnten wir auf Grund folgender Beobachtungen und Versuche feststellen:

die Bündel waren nur in kranken Exemplaren vorhanden;
-
2.
nach Übertragung des Virus auf gesunde, vorher bündelfreie Pflanzen entstanden in ihnen neben den hexagonalen Prismen auch die Nadelbündel, und
-
3.
in lokalinfiziertenDatura-stramonium-Pflanzen befanden sich die Bündel nur in den Zellen der Lokalläsionen.
Auch in den Vakuolen vonSinapis alba, die mit einem Stamm von turnip mosaic virus infiziert war, sind ähnliche intravakuoläre Kristalle wahrgenommen worden.
