The effect of the substrate on two catalytic spot tests for copper

Summary

The results of the application of two catalytic spot tests to 22 grades of filter paper have been reported. The variation of sensitivity with the grade of filter paper was found to be at least ten-fold. In general, the “ash-free” grades of filter paper gave the highest sensitivity,

Zusammenfassung

Das Ergebnis der Ausführung zweier katalytisoher Tüpfelproben auf 22 verschiedenen Arten von Filtrierpapier wird berichtet. Die Empfindlichkeit kann durch richtige Wahl des Papieres bis zu zehnfach gesteigert werden. Die asohefreien Papiere geben im allgemeinen die hochste Empfindlichkeit.

Résumé

On reproduit les résultats de deux essais catalytiques à la touches suides papiers filtres de 22 qualités. On trouve que la sensibilité varie au moins de 1 à 10 suivant la qualité du papier. En général les qualités du papier filtre dites sans cendre donnent la plus grande sensibilité.
