Contents

The mathematical longitudinal model of an electrical transmission system, with included unified power flow controller (UPFC), was developed From UPFC operating principles it is evident, that it has three independently controllable parameters and so offers the possibility of control of three electrical quantities of the transmission system. The interdependence between powers (currents) and impedances and controllable UPFC parameters are presented in form of analytical equations. The use of the model was demonstrated by examples of load flow control and transient stability margin enhancement.
