Electrolysis at the interface of two immiscible electrolyte solutions: Determination of ionophores

Abstract

The principles of electrolysis and facilitated ion transfer at the interface of two immiscible electrolyte solutions are outlined. The method of determination of ionophores is exemplified by assay of monensin in cultures ofStreptomyces cinnamonensis.
