Summary
Administration of a tyrosine dose (100 mg/kg, by stomach tube) along with glucose (3 g/kg, also by stomach tube) amplified its effect on the plasma tyrosine/large neutral amino acids (LNAA) ratio and on brain tyrosine levels. Lower and higher glucose doses were without effect, because they caused proportionate decreases in plasma tyrosine and in other plasma LNAA.
