Abstract
We have studied the generation of arsenic hydride on a fly ash slurry from a thermal power plant burning lignite. The conditions for the formation of the slurry were optimized and the influence of the presence of various surfactants on the formation and stability of slurry (particle size-analytical signal ratio) were investigated.
The As content in the ash was 78.7 μg/g, with an rsd of 5.6% and a detection limit of 2.8 ng. The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of arsenic in a certified ash sample (BCR-38). This method was applied to fly ash from a thermal power plant burning anthracite.
