The use of 0.1 ml whole blood samples for testing neutralizing antibodies against poliovirus

Summary

Using horse serum adapted HeLa cells tissue culture neutralization tests have been carried out with 0.1 ml whole blood samples diluted in 0.2 ml heparin solution as test material. Good agreement was in general found between these tests and standard tests, but titers obtained with the small blood samples seemed to be higher than the ones obtained by the usual method.
