Summary
The adsorption and elution of polio virus with Al(OH)3 was investigated. The most favorable adsorption occurred at pH 6.0 and at a concentration of 0.16% Al(OH)3. The most complete elution was obtained with isotonic NaCl solution at pH 3.0 to 2.5 or with 1/3m phosphate buffer at pH 7.5. An enrichment of the virus up to ten times was possible, but the virus which had been purified and concentrated in this way was unsuited as antigen for the CFT.
