Summary
The topographic study of the hypothalamic neurosecretory nuclei was made on a large series of 66 brains of Rhode Island Hens, the serial sections of which were colored by the chromic haematoxylin-phloxin method ofGomori. Various experimental conditions that produce an accumulation of neurosecretory substance in the cells and their axons, led to the observation of two extra-hypothalamohypophyseal pathways. The hypothalamo-septal tract ends in a sub-septal organ that seems to correspond to the sub-fornical organ in Mammals. The hypothalamohubenular tract establishes a connection between the hypothalamic and epithalamic regions of the bird's brain.
