Thorax- und Abdominalverletzungen im Kindesalter

Summary

We report on 93 children up to 14 years of age with serious abdominal or thoracical lesions treated in our hospital during the last 6 years.

In all of the children we found a serious injury to a specific organ. We saw 52 children with an isolated abdominal lesion, 20 children with an isolated thoracic lesion and 21 with combined abdominal and thoracic lesions. Seven of these children died, however only two in consequence of lesions of internal organs, the others as the result of their accompanying lesions. Knowledge of the special reaction of the child to injury is necessary as a preliminary condition for successful surgical intervention.

Specifically we pointed to the symptoms and the importance of an early diagnosis. We demonstrated the possibilities of conservative and operative therapy of blunt abdominal and thoracic injuries in infancy.

Some typical cases are described with mechanism of the accident, symptoms and therapy.

In der 1. Chirurg. Klinik der Städt. Krankenanstalten Nürnberg wurden in den letzten 6 Jahren 93 Kinder bis zum Alter von 14 Jahren mit einer schweren Abdominal- oder Thoraxverletzung stationär behandelt. Davon hatten 52 ein isoliertes Bauch-, 20 ein isoliertes Thoraxund 21 ein kombiniertes Thorax-Bauchtrauma erlitten. An Hand von Beispielen werden Unfallmechanismus, Symptomatik, Diagnose und Therapie der intrathorakalen und intraabdominalen Verletzungen im Kindesalter aufgezeigt.
