Summary
The UICC proposed a classification for anal carcinoma following the TNM-System, which should be tried out clinically till 1972 before being universally accepted. On the basis of 41 patients with carcinoma of the anus the proposition was tried and found too complicated for clinical purposes. A new TNM-Classification that is simpler, is proposed and its practicability proved on the clinical material.
Zusammenfassung
Es wird über 41 Patienten mit Analcarcinom berichtet, die in den Jahren 1943 bis 1967 in der Chirurgischen Universitätsklinik Heidelberg stationär behandelt wurden. Im gleichen Zeitraum kamen 1781 Patienten mit einem Rectumcarcinom an dieser Klinik zur Beobachtung. Aufgrund dieser Erhebungen wurde der Klassifikationsvorschlag für das Analcarcinom nach dem TNM-System der UICC überprüft. Dieser Vorschlag ist in wesentlichen Punkten nicht praktikabel und berücksichtigt nicht ausreichend die klinisch feststellbaren Metastasierungswege dieses Carcinoms. Es wird ein vereinfachter Vorschlag zur TNM-Klassifizierung vorgelegt.
