Conclusion
In summary, PCPS has opened a new door for patients with acute heart failure, not only in university hospitals but also in community hospitals and even private hospitals. The number of cases with LVAD support is gradually increasing with the prospect of further heart transplantation operations, and the duration of support is getting longer and longer. For the Japanese-made pneumatic LVAD, the development of a left ventricular drainage cannula is a breakthrough to improve performance to cope with current conditions. However, on the clinical side, we are eagerly awaiting the development of a compact implantable LVAD that fits easily into small Japanese patients.
