Abstract

We discuss the problems of the double-lumen catheter (DLC) that we have used for blood purification and their improvement. The main problems are infection and insufficient blood flow during blood purification due to intraluminal thrombosis, the attachment phenomenon, and thrombosis of the individual problems, but all the problems have not yet been resolved. The development of a DLC that resolves almost all problems is desired in the near future.
