Gas formation in liquid in initial stages of a pulsed discharge

Abstract

Gas formation in electrolytes withγ=10−2−10−4Ω−1cm−1, distilled waterγ = 10−5-1.5 ·10−6 Ω−1cm−1, and chemically pure n-hexane in the initial stages of formation of discharge with rectangular voltage pulses of 0.67 and 1.85 μsec duration is investigated. The experimental results are compared with the results of approximate calculations.
