Zusammenfassung
-
1.
Summary
-
1.
The poisons of anticholinesterase inactivate, in supportable doses, only the cholinesterase of the blood serum and the intercellular cholinesterase, while the muscular cholinesterase remains intact. This renders possible a larger accumulation of acetylcholin at the endplate.
-
2.
The cellular membrane separates the substratum from the ferment, i. e., acetylcholin from cholinesterase, in order to avoid inactivation of the ferment. The weaker the permeability the more acetylcholin accumulates around the cell and in consequence thereof the activity of cholinesterase increases in the muscle.
-
3.
The compensation of the potentials in the sense ofStraubs theory and the function of the thereby weakened acetylcholin should be conceived as being proportional because the more substratum the more activity of the ferment so that the quantities of acetylcholin which are necessary for inactivating the cholinesterase are always in the same proportions with the latter. Thus, the process in question does not constitute a quantitative compensation.
-
4.
Attention is called to the fact that cholin, the decomposition product of acetylcholin, represents the basis for further chemical processes of muscular contraction and that in consequence thereof also acetylcholin exercises its function only at the moment of decomposition.
-
5.
Acetylcholin and cholinesterase constitute a functional unit. This is one of the most important postulates ofStraubs theory.
Résumé
-
1.
