Summary
A report has been made on the results of a continuous electric irritation of the nerves of the renal pedicle. The irritation consisted in 4 impulses per second of a width of 1 sigma and a current intensity ranging from 0,2 to 0,6 milliamperes. In the irritated kidney were found alterations in the tubuli of a necrosing nephrosis. The duration of irritation hitherto applied ranged from 3 to 12 hours. The degree of the alterations increased with the duration of irritation. This confirms the results of research works communicated before (2, 3, 4) in which one-sided necrosing damages of the tubular epithelium could be produced by means of a non-specific inflammation of the tissue in the region supplied by the renal nerves. The glomerules remain unaffected thereby to a large extent. The discussion of a superactivity cellular necrosis is suggested therefore.
