Summary
The author has described and has shown lantern slides from drawings of his instruments serving for the microscopy in incident light “in vivo et in situ” also with the strongest magnifications, f.i. on the leafs of succulent plants, — further the combination of this new microscopy with micromanipulation and finally a new device of microscopy permitting surgical operations under a double binocular microscope, which renders possible to work with the aid of an assistant. Some microphotos taken in vivo et in situ on young trouts (pigmentary cells, nervus lateralis) have proved the efficacy of this intravital microscopy. The author has explained a new procedure for elective coloration of the nervous system with a mixture of nigrosine-alcohol-acetic-acid or trypanblue-alcohol-acetic-acid, and shown microphotos from such preparations of the brain and the retina of vertebrates and from some vital colorations with the aid of methylenblue from the cardiac nervous system of Cancer pagurus.
