Determination of oxygen uptake by tissue grown in an all glass differential microrespirometer

  • Published:
Microchimica Acta Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

An all-glass differential microrespirometer is described, which is designed to measure the respiration of actively growing cellsin vitro. The actual growing of the cells was carried outin situ in the respirometer to avoid injury by a transfer of the living cells.

The apparatus was also used in measuring the oxygen uptake of bacterial cells and brain homogenate.
