Ball and socket nitrometer with integral liquid-leveling device

Summary

An improved micronitrometer for the microDumas method is described. The nitrometer has a ball and socket valve replacing the conventional stopcock at the top of the graduated column and an integral liquid-leveling device which eliminates the leveling bulb and rubber tubing connecting the same to the nitrometer. Thus contamination from stopcock grease and materials originating from the rubber tubing is precluded.

Zusammenfassung

Ein verbessertes Mikroazotometer für die Mikro-Dumas-Methode wird beschrieben. Es ist mit einem Kugelventil an Stelle des üblichen Hahnes am oberen Ende des Meßrohres und einer selbsttätigen Niveaueinstellungsvorrichtung, die Niveaubirne und Schlauchverbindungen unnötig macht, versehen. Verunreinigungen durch Hahnfett oder Schlauchmaterial werden hierdurch ausgeschlossen.

Résumé

On décrit un micronitromètre perfectionné pour le micro-Dumas. Cet appareil possède un rodage sphérique remplaçant le robinet habituel au sommet de la colonne graduée et un dispositif d'égalisation des niveaux qui élimine le réservoir de niveau et le joint de caoutchouc qui le relie au nitromètre. Ainsi est évitée la contamination par la graisse de robinet et par les matières étrangères venues du caoutchouc.
