Photometrische Titration von Phosphat mit Thoriumnitrat im Mikrogramm- und Milligrammbereich

Zusammenfassung

Eine Methode zur photometrischen Titration von Phosphat mit Thoriumnitrat wurde entwickelt. Als Indikator dient Brenzcatechinviolett. Das Verfahren ist anwendbar für 5μg bis 2 mg P. Da es in einem niedrigen pH-Bereich arbeitet, stören die meisten ein- und zweiwertigen Kationen nicht. Auch hohe Neutralsalzmengen verursachen keine Störungen, so daß die Methode besonders gut zur P-Bestimmung in organischen Verbindungen nach Peroxidaufschlüssen geeignet ist.

Summary

A method for photometric titration of phosphate with thorium nitrate has been developed. Pyrocatechol Violet serves as an indicator. The suitable range is between 5μg and 2 mg P. The method works at a low pH level and therefore, most of the uni- and bivalent cations don't interfere. Appreciable amounts of alkali salts don't affect the titration either. Therefore, the method is applicable especially to the determination of phosphorus in organic compounds after decomposition with sodium peroxide.
