Spectrophotometric determination of oxidized iron in potassium hydroxide with 2,2′-dipyridyl ketoxime

Summary

A spectrophotometric method for the determination of oxidized iron in potassium hydroxide with 2,2′-dipyridyl ketoxime is described. The effects due to potassium hydroxide concentration, heating time, sodium hydrosulfite concentration, reagent concentration, solvents, metallic iron and diverse ions are reported. The system shows a molar absorptivity of 1.6·10₄1mol⁻¹ cm⁻¹ at 548 nm.

Zusammenfassung

Eine spektrophotometrische Methode zur Bestimmung von oxydiertem Eisen in Kalilauge mit 2,2′-Dipyridylketoxim wurde beschrieben. Der Einfluß der Kalilauge-Konzentration, der Erhitzungsdauer, der Natriumhydrogensulfit-Konzentration, der Reagenskonzentration, der Lösungsmittel, von elementarem Eisen und von verschiedenen Fremdionen wurde angegeben. Der Extinktionskoeffizient beträgt 1,6·10⁴ 1·mol⁻¹·cm⁻¹ bei 548 nm.
