Summary
A description is given of the microtitration afterKarl Fischer of water of crystallization or adhering moisture in organic substances. With exclusion of the laboratory air, quantities of water between 0.2 and 3 mg are determined with a standard deviation ofs=±14 μg in an apparatus designed for routine operations. The method was employed with excellent success in a time- and work-saving clarification of “erroneous analyses” in that their cause was frequently found to reside in a water content of the substance.
