Quantitative determination of trace amounts of carbonyl compounds. II. Colorimetric analysis for acetaldehyde

  • Published:
Microchimica Acta Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

A colorimetric method for the quantitative determination of acetaldehyde is described which is sensitive to 0.5 microgram. The test uses 2-(4′-phenylazo)phenylhydrazinesulfonic acid for the development of a lavender color which is proportional in intensity to the amount of acetaldehyde present.
