Summary
A new method of determining thorium is given employing the use of nuclear emulsion plates. The solution to be studied is added to the emulsion and the number of two-, three- and four-armed stars is determined. The desired value is read from the diagram, which shows the dependence of the number of stars per unit area on the concentration. As little as 10−6% thorium concentration can be measured by this procedure.
