Turbidimetric determination of ajmaline in submicro quantities

Summary

A turbidimetric method is proposed for the determination of ajmaline in the range of 5–60 μg. The procedure has been applied to the estimation of a single spot obtained after chromatographic or electrophoretic separation of ajmaline from the Rauwolfia alkaloids. The method is rapid and has an accuracy of ± 0.5 μg.

Zusammenfassung

Für die Bestimmung von 5 bis 60 μg Ajmalin wird eine turbidimetrische Methode vorgeschlagen. Chromatographisch oder elektrophoretisch aus Rauwolfia-Alkaloiden abgetrenntes Ajmalin läßt sich nach diesem Verfahren in einem einzigen Flecken bestimmen. Die Methode ist rasch und auf ± 0,5 μg genau.

Résumé

On propose une méthode turbidimétrique pour le dosage de l'ajmaline dans le domaine compris entre 5 et 60 μg. On a appliqué le procédé consistant à faire l'estimation sur une tache unique obtenue après séparation, chromatographique ou par électrophorèse, de l'ajmaline d'avec les alcaloïdes du Rauwolfia. La méthode est rapide et fournit une précision de ± 0,5 μg.
