The preparation of silver absorbers for sampling airborne mercury

  • Published:
Microchimica Acta Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

The procedure for the preparation of MC-8 silver absorbers is described. Silver gauze, 30–60 mesh, is used after heat activation at 800°. The construction of the samplers is followed by a description of a simple method for the calibration of individual absorber units to achieve a standard resistance to air flow at 1.5 litres per minute.
