Tiny sponges of polystyrene foam are weighed, soaked with the suspension or solution, dried, and weighed again for the determination of the mass of non-volatile sample. The carrier, a hydrocarbon, may be removed by ashing or separated from the sample with the use of suitable solvents.
Zusammenfassung
Als Träger für die Einwaage einer Substanz dienen kleine Würfelchen aus Polystyrolschaum von 0,6 bis 0,9 mm Seitenlänge und 3 bis 8μg Gewicht. Ein gewogenes Würfelchen wird mit dem Untersuchungsmaterial, das als Lösung oder Suspension vorliegt, getränkt, getrocknet und zur Bestimmung der Menge des Trockenrückstandes wieder gewogen. Die Trägersubstanz kann durch Veraschen zerstört oder durch Lösungsmittel vom Untersuchungs-material getrennt werden.
Résumé
L'auteur utilise comme pèse substance un petit cube de mousse de polystyrol de 0,6 à 0,9 mm de côté et pesant de 3 à 8μg. Un petit cube préalablement pesé est imprégné de la substance examinée sous forme de solution ou de suspension; il est ensuite séché puis pesé pour détermination de la quantité de résidu sec. La substance porteuse peut être détruite par calcination ou séparée de la substance à examiner à l'aide d'un solvant.
