Summary
All procedures of quantitative analysis involving the use of radioactive species of atoms are based on the radio — indicator methods introduced byHevesy andPaneth. The analytical procedure devised by these authors is of special importance at present with respect to organic — analytical problems, such as are encountered for instance in pharmacology. Likewise, dilution analysis can be of value in series analyses under some circumstances. Finally, the radio activation method is excellently suited for the quantitative trace analysis of inorganic ions. All three procedures are characterized by high sensitivity and great specificity. They are versatile and adaptable.
