Trace porphyrin complexes: Fluorescence detection by demetallation with methanesulfonic acid

Summary

A method is described for the detection and spectral examination of traces of porphyrin complexes by controlled demetallation and spectrofluorometry. By carrying out the demetallation with methanesulfonic acid in the optical cell, difficulties connected with handling losses and introduction of contamination are minimized. The method is sensitive to quantities as low as 0.05 ng.

Zusammenfassung

Ein Verfahren zum Nachweis und zur spektralanalytischen Untersuchung von Spuren von Porphyrinkomplexen wurde beschrieben, das auf der kontrollierten Abspaltung des komplex gebundenen Metalls und darauffolgender Fluoreszenzmessung beruht. Führt man die Dekomplexierung mit Methansulfonsäure in der optischen Zelle des Meßgerätes durch, so werden Verluste und Verunreinigungen weitgehend vermieden. Die Methode erlaubt den Nachweis auch noch von 0,05 ng.
