Zusammenfassung
Angeregt durch die Arbeit vonJ. A. Gautier undP.
Summary
Stimulated by the study byJ. A. Gautier andP. Pignard of the determination of boron as barium borotartrate, it has been shown that under practically analogous conditions the germanate ion forms a barium germanium tartrate of the composition Ba2GeC8H8O14. 2 H2O, which in all probability is similar to the barium borotartrate. This new complex compound of germanium was tested with respect to its analytical usefulness and a new method of determining germanium was worked out on the basis of the findings. Because of the relatively favorable conversion factor (FGe=0.1020), and the simplicity of the procedure and its rapidity, there is a good possibility of an elegant method of determining germanium. Furthermore, in certain cases, there are new possibilities of separations, in which special importance attaches to the fact that the determination is possible even in the presence of much arsenite (and probably also arsenate).
Résumé
Sous l'instigation du travail deJ. A. Gautier etP.
