Etudes sur la nature des «pinks» par thermogravimétrie et spectrographie infrarouge. II pinks au zinc

Résumé

Quand on chauffe des mélanges de chlorure de zinc et de bichromate de potassium, en diverses proportions, jusqu'à 1000°, il se forme au cours de cette réaction à l'état solide une coloration violette dans le cas où le chlorure de zinc se trouve en grand excès. La spectrographie d'absorption infrarouge nous montre qu'il ne s'agit pas d'une combinaison nouvelle entre le chrome et le zinc, mais d'une dispersion de chromite de zinc dans un excès d'oxyde de zinc.

Zusammenfassung

Erhitzt man Mischungen von Zinkchlorid und Kaliumbichromat in verschiedenen Mengenverhältnissen auf 1000° C, so entsteht, wenn Zinkchlorid in großem Überschuß vorliegt, bei dieser Festkörperreaktion eine violette Färbung. Die spektrographische Untersuchung der IR-Absorption zeigt, daß es sich dabei nicht um eine neue Verbindung zwischen Chrom und Zink, sondern um eine Dispersion von Zinkchromit in überschüssigem Zinkoxid handelt.

Summary

When mixtures containing various proportions of zinc chloride and potassium bichromate are heated up to 1000°, this solid state reaction yields a, violet coloration if the zinc chloride is in large excess. The infrared absorption spectrogram reveals that no new combination is present between chromium and zinc but instead a dispersion of zinc chromite in an excess of zinc oxide.
