Abstract

Exact analysis of second-order sigma-delta modulators with constant input is presented. Some properties of general limit cycles are established. Sufficient conditions for the existence of a general class of limit cycles of the state vectors of the modulator are determined. The conditions interrelate the input, an initial vector, and the period of the limit cycle. Also, sufficient conditions are determined for a class of initial condition vectors to converge to a limit cycle.
