Abstract

The results of an investigation of the mechanical properties of structural ceramics based on AI2O3 and ZrO2 are presented. It is shown that the properties of the ceramics change markedly with the sintering temperature and the composition. The optimum composition in the form of a solid solution of oxides is determined, which gives a ceramic with elevated mechanical characteristics that sinters at 1600°C.
