Measurement of free-fall acceleration in a stationary gravitational field

  • Published:
Soviet Physics Journal Aims and scope

Abstract

A simple method is proposed for the measurement of the fundamental kinematic characteristics of a particle falling freely in a stationary gravitational field near an observer whose world line is the trajectory of a group of motions. An expression is obtained for the observable acceleration on the world line of the observer, and some particular cases are considered. In the concluding section the results of a previous paper by the author are reviewed.
