Radiation from a train of charges passing through a cylindrical resonator

  • Published:
Soviet Physics Journal Aims and scope

Abstract

The energy radiated by single charges and a train of point charges moving along the axis of a cylindrical finite-Q resonator is determined. It is shown that the steady-state value of the radiated energy is proportional to the Q and the length of the resonator.
