Abstract
A series of new transition metal complexes with the thiocyanate ion: (1) Mn(NCS)2·Benzo-15-crown-5, (2) Mn-(bipy)(NCS)2, (3) Ni(bipy)(NCS)2, prepared by using solution reaction methods, have been characterized by FT-IR spectra. The expression (I 2/I 1=tan2 θ) has been suggested to be used to calculate the bond angle N-metal-N (N atoms come from the two coordinating NCS groups) in the complexes.
