Fourier transform spectroscopy of surface polariton bragg reflection in gratings

Abstract

Periodic gratings on metal surface have been used for surface polariton decay length measurements for 5–15μm wavelength by means of a commercial Fourier-transform spectrometer. The effect of different grating parameters as well as that of the spectrometer light beam configuration on transmission spectra has been investigated. Gaps in the transmission spectrum due to Bragg reflection have been studied in details.
