Summary
The iR drop between the electrodes of an electrochemical flow-through cell (wall-jet-detector) was investigated in detail. Thereby the detector was connected with a liquid Chromatograph. It was shown, that the iR drop between the electrodes on the one side is proportional to the concentration of the electroactive substance, which is eluted from a column, on the other side it depends on the concentration of the supporting electrolyte. An apparatus for the continuous measurement of the iR drop is described. This apparatus was used to record chromatograms.
