Thermal Analysis of Hydrates of Organic Compounds. I

Zusammenfassung

Im Verhalten organischer Hydrate beim Erhitzen lassen sich verschiedene Typen unterscheiden: 1. Ein- oder mehrstufige Desolvation zum Anhydrat, 2. Desolvation zu einer wasserärmeren Form mit anschließendem kongruentem Schmelzen und 3. einfaches Schmelzen als Hydrat. Zu Punkt 1 werden 6 Beispiele gebracht:α-Acetaminozimtsäure-2H2O; 4,4-Bipyridyl-2H2O; Aceclidinhydrochlorid-H2O; Terpinhydrat; D(+)-Trehalose-2H2O; Dimethylglyoxim-Dinatrium-8H2O. Die übrigen Typen sind einer weiteren Mitteilung vorbehalten. Für die Untersuchungen wurden folgende Methoden benützt: Thermomikroskopie, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, Thermogravimetrie und IR-Spektroskopie.

Summary

In the behaviour of organic hydrates in heating, numerous types can be distinguished: 1. single-stage and multi-stage desolvation to the anhydrate; 2. desolvation to a form of lower water content with subsequent congruent fusion and 3. simple fusion as hydrate. Six examples are given on point 1: alpha-acetoaminocinnamic acid-2H2O; 4,4-bipyridyl·2H2O; aceclidine hydrochloride-H2O; terpine hydrate; D(+)-trehalose·2H2O; dimethylglyoxime disodium·8H2O. The remaining types will be dealt with in a further communication. The following methods were used for the investigations: thermal microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetry and IR spectroscopy.
