Summary

  1. 1.

A study has been made of the action of ethylene glycol, of 1,4-butanediol, and of diethylene glycol on phosphorus trichloride in presence of substances that bind hydrogen chloride. Cyclic esters of phosphorochloridous acid having five-, seven-, and eight-membered rings have been synthesized:

  2. 2.

By the action of alcohols on the phosphorochloridites, and also by the action of glycols on Menshutkin's acid chloride. mixed cyclic esters of phosphorous acid have been prepared, some of their properties hue been studied.
