An automated titration of phosphine and a first investigation of the application in the determination of organo-phosphorus compounds

Summary

An acidimetric titration is used to determine phosphine by its reaction with mercury(II) chloride in aqueous medium. About 0.1μmole of P is determined. The titration is checked with phosphine samples, generated from phosphonium iodide, and is in use to study the reductive destruction of phosphorus-containing substances.

Zusammenfassung

Eine acidimetrische Titration wurde zur Bestimmung von Phosphin in wäßriger Lösung nach dessen Reaktion mit Quecksilber(II)chlorid angewendet. Ungefähr 0,1μMol P wurde bestimmt. Das Verfahren wurde mit Phosphin geprüft, das aus Phosphoniumjodid freigesetzt wurde, und findet Anwendung bei dem reduktiven Aufschluß phosphorhältiger Substanzen.
